Peggy McAlister Davis
Tax Manager
Peggy began her accounting career after graduating from the University of Oregon in 1971 (Phi Beta Kappa). She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1976. Since that time, the majority of her professional experience has been in the not-for-profit sector.
Peggy earned an MBA from California State University, Fresno in 1990 (with distinction). She is currently in Certified Financial Planner classes through The American College, with an expected completion in 2009.
Peggy has significant experience in financial analysis, accounting for split-interest agreements, including charitable remainder unitrusts and charitable remainder annuity trusts, cash management and control, and not-for-profit accounting and budgeting. She led a major project in applying cost accounting principles to a larger not-for-profit organization seeking to make its financial statements better reflect the internal workings of the organization. Peggy has served as the accountant on a contract basis for Fresno Pacific University Foundation for approximately 19 years and also served as controller for Fresno Pacific University for 10 years. She has extensive experience in establishing and accounting for an investment pool that included over 65 charitable remainder trusts.
Her scope of work also includes preparation of tax returns for estates, trusts, charitable trusts and individuals. She’s also experienced in trust accounting and individual tax planning.
Peggy is a member of the California Society of CPAs. She is the president of her religious organization’s Supportive Care Commission, a member of the Fresno Estate Planning Council, a Valley Public Radio volunteer, and a regular attendee at the Fresno chapter of the Probate Bar public meetings.
